The Esme & Tom Tombleson Charitable Trust



The Trust was established by Esme and Tom Tombleson in 1990.  It is a registered charitable organisation with the Charities Commission - Number CC23447.  Grants are considered only once per year. 

Application forms can be downloaded below, or collected from our office at 393 Gladstone Road, Gisborne. 

Grant Criteria:

Assistance by way of grants in respect of physical or mental disability for the following:

  • a. Grants are available for persons in the Gisborne/East Coast/Wairoa areas who are physically and/or mentally disabled, to assist with disabilities, to help overcome disabilities and towards care and management of disabilities.   
  • b. Grants are available for research (medical, social, and other) into physical and mental disability.
  • c. Grants are available for education of the public in respect of physical and mental disability and the needs and aspirations of those who suffer.

Supporting Documents:

Quotes should be supplied for all applications for equipment purchases. If possible, a letter from a medical practitioner should be provided in support of an individual's application.

Self Storage Gisborne Ltd

When Peter and Sylvia Jex-Blake purchased 107 Disraeli Street in 2007, the Sunshine Brewery was the only tenant.  The balance of the site consisted of the original Gisborne Sheepfarmers warehouse, and the original Sheepfarmers manager's residence.  In search of a use for the warehouse, Peter came across the Self Storage industry.  Contact was made with a consultant, who put together a plan to convert the site into a self storage facility.  Hence, the beginning of Self Storage Gisborne...
