In April 2023, Carlos and Anna Frota eagerly assumed ownership of Wilcom, renaming the company FrotaNet Limited while retaining the familiar trading name Wilcom. Having enjoyed a slower pace of life, Karen and Craig Wilson, who owned Wilcom for 23 years, expressed their contentment with the transition.  Karen remarked, “Carlos and Anna are like family, and it's wonderful to witness the business in the hands of such a diligent couple. We're confident that our customers will be well taken care of.”

 

Carlos, originally from Santiago Rio Grande Do Sul, Brazil, had worked at Wilcom for nearly 18 years before deciding to buy the business alongside his wife Anna.  Starting as a Telecommunications Technician in 2005 with limited English proficiency but the right attitude and background knowledge, Carlos was hired by Karen and Craig.  This opportunity allowed Carlos to enter the world of Radio Communications, enabling him to acquire knowledge and skills in the industry that have enhanced the business's services.

 

With 18 years of experience, Carlos seamlessly transitioned into the role of owner.  The strong relationships developed with customers over the years, both locally and internationally, have contributed to a robust working connection. Carlos and Anna, as a collaborative team, leverage each other's unique strengths and expertise, creating a dynamic force in their business ventures.


Karen and Craig's consistent support throughout Carlos' career played a pivotal role in his and Anna's journey to where they are today. Now eight months into their ownership, Carlos and Anna express their enjoyment and their commitment to growing the business by exploring new technology opportunities.  They aim to maintain strong local relationships and provide timely, personal service.  Inspired by their own experiences, they also aspire to offer learning opportunities to the next generation.

 

The couple extend a big thank you to the customers who have supported them since taking over the business.  Special gratitude is also expressed to Fern, Gill, Rachel, and Michelle from Graham and Dobson, particularly for their ongoing support, especially in Anna's new role in accounts and administration.
